I decided, for some strange reason, to make a cat o’ Nine tails and it turned out surprisingly good. I’m not sure what I’ll do with it, but here it is.

It’s about four and a half feet long in red and black. The handle is 22 inches with a fiberglass core making it pretty flexible. It’s covered with a plaited nylon belly and a leather bolster that is bound with artificial sinew and decorated with a 16 plait nylon overlay. The wrist strap is a four strand flat braid. The nine thongs are four strand nylon round braids that are about 20 inches long ending in 8 inches of fringe. Pineapple knots cover the heel and transition.
