Whip #86 is a 6-foot, 12-plait, natural kangaroo hide whip with two plaited kangaroo hide bellies and two calfskin bolsters. The handle has an 8-inch 1/4″ steel rod center. It has a 30-inch latigo fall and a 12-inch nylon cracker. The heel knot is a 5×4, 3-pass Turk’s head knot over a lead and kangaroo hide and artificial sinew foundation. the transition knot is a 5×4, 2-pass THK. the handle is a single diamond plait with two wide bands in the middle. The transition of the thong is covered with a Gaucho plait that transitions to a herringbone. There is a short section of a birds-eye plait to break up the herringbone. the whip ends in an 8-strand fall hitch.
